Wintertime event has been rescheduled to Sunday February, 6, 2005, between noon and 4pm at the Blackstone River & Canal Heritage State Park. Outdoor activities planned; heated indoor space is available at River Bend Farm Visitor Center.
BLIZZARD conditions have envoked use of alternative date, 2/6/05.
Great opportunity for beginner as well as seasoned cachers to try out winter searching with their new toys, high tech gifts and/or other equipment. Weather permitting, outdoor activities will include cross country ski course, snowshoeing route and possibly a skate cache.
Some make there own Team name tags, but blank "my name is" stick ons will be available to help in your meet and greet activities. Refreshments include hot chocolate to complement the bring-a-snack table for which you are welcome to bake or buy, hot dishes welcome.
TRAVEL BUG exchange table will be availble. To facilitate smooth transfer, please consider posting a note in advance to drop the TBs you will be bringing. Please take no more than one for each one you bring. If you have an extra one to drop, that will allow a newcomer to grab one if they can help it along. Please sign them in and out on sheet of paper that we use for answering any questions that arise during the week to follow. Log them out on website as soon as you can, but do allow some time if they were not dropped early.
CACHE ITEM exchange will be PATRIOTS swap. In the spirit of the season, you are invited to bring trade items (with value about $5) either gift wrapped or not. At about 3pm, we will start drawing one name at a time for someone who is in the room to pick out an item, then pick the next name. We will continue this until all items are picked. If someone is still out on the trail, there name will be returned to the basket. If you must leave early, something will be arranged. Keep it simple, make it fun.
Directions for those that want them:
Use exit 10A from MassPike for route 146 South, take Route 16 East to Uxbridge Center, turn left on Route 122 North, in 1-1/2 mile turn right at next traffic light onto Hartford Avenue, then in one mile turn right on Oak Street. Visitor Center is large red barn.
From Rhode Island, take Route 146 North to second exit in Mass, Route 16 and follow as above (there are visitor center signs at each turn).
From the east for those traveling I-495, use exits 19 (rt 109) or 20 (rt 85) westbound to Route 16 and turn west. Drive through Milford into Mendon and look for Hartford Avenue to turn right, then in four miles turn left onto Oak Street.

In case of rain or blizzard conditions, we will postpone until Sunday, Feb 6th (changed from earlier note). If there is no snow, you are welcome, but we will also consider using the alternate date.
