Had to move cache to the Texas side due to muggles.
Perfect cache to visit after parking for your dental appointment in Progresso, Mexico. A cleaning and exam is only $15. eMail me for a recommendation. Bring American Dollars for shopping. BTW they all charge the same fee. No commercial promotion herein.
Progresso is a shopping town just south of the Rio Grande River in Mexico. Drive south from Weslaco, TX on Farm Road 1015. There are several parking lots on the north side of the river in the area of N26 03.752 W97 57.000. We always use the lot on the East side of 1015, just north of the bridge (parking fee: $1 for all day). I've never heard of a security problem in any of the lots.
Park there and walk to the cache location on the Texas side. After signing the log, you can walk across Road 1015 to the west side, then stroll across the bridge (pedestrian lane) after depositing a quarter (each person) in the turnstile (an attendant will provide change if you need it). It's a 100-meter walk across the river, then another 100 meters or so into the town center.
If you enjoy shopping, plan to spend at least a couple of hours in Progresso. Medicine is 10-30% of U.S. cost.
