THE TRAILER COURT Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This is the fourth cache we have placed in the Babbitt area and this one is located on the site of an old trailer court. This court was built during the late 1930's for the use of construction workers who were building the Naval Ammunition Depot and also,a little later the Babbitt Housing area. It remained in use up until the mid 1950's when it was phased out of operation and the buildings were removed, torn down or sold. During the the early World War 2 period, Hawthorne was literally busting at the seams with a huge influx of workers and sufficent housing, of any type, was not available.
The small cache, a tube of PVC conduit, contains a Log Book and pencil and a few small items which point toward the construction industry: a ruler, two wrenches, a 5/16" drill bit, a 1/4" masonary bit, an old square headed nail, a whet stone, a few tie wraps and electrical wire nuts.
The hint is a dead give away to the cache location so use it only as a last resort. Without using the hint you may find this one a little difficult.
