Near the top of the Crozet telecabine.
This was a New Year's Cache -- stowed on New Year's Day 2005. It's 832 metres -- as the crow flies -- northeast of the top of the Crozet telecabine / gondola, located at elevation of 1,373 metres. I stowed it while there was plenty of snow around so it's difficult to describe the route, although it's not difficult with winter hiking boots on and probably would be easy when there's no snow.
Snow on the Jura meant it was hard to find a suitable hiding place, but in the end I found a tree under which you will find the cache in a plastic container in a Coop bag. If you find this cache and it's too visible, please help hide it better!
Initial contents included some kitchy Canadiana and some trinkets picked up on 2004 travels. This would be an easy cache to get too with kids so I hope to replenish it in the spring with more kid friendly items.
While it's easy to get to this cache by taking the telecabine, you could add some rigour to the search by hiking up from the base in Crozet.
