*gln: ### ARCHIVING UNMAINTAINED CACHE ###

Greetings lazylightning,

Looks like our timing is off, and It’s time to say goodbye to this cache.

Since I haven't seen any maintenance plan posted here, I am going to assume that your priorities have changed, and you’ve gone in a different direction.

Archiving due to lack of maintenance is permanent.

Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Glenn

Geocache Description:

The coordinates above are NOT the correct coordinates to the cache. You will have to figure out the answers to the Presidential trivia questions below to find out the correct coordinates for the cache.

The Hail to the Chief are a series of caches in Jefferson City Missouri that revolve around the number of streets in Jefferson City named after our greatest Presidents. Let your fingers do the walking on these caches. These urban caches will take more internet research than hiking. Most caches are micro-caches. All caches are near the parking areas or streets named for the Presidents. I hope you enjoy finding these caches as much as I did in creating them.

When Harry S. Truman left the presidency, he was one of the most unpopular politicians in the United States. The Korean War, accusations of corruption in his administration, and the anti-communist red-baiting of McCarthy and his allies had all contributed to the President’s poor standing with the public. Truman’s reputation, though, began to revive soon after he returned to private life. Truman’s conduct of American foreign policy deserves special commendation. Truman responded to the Soviet challenge with a range of political, diplomatic, military, and economic initiatives designed to contain Soviet power and to construct an American-led bulwark against communism. American officials followed Truman’s approach to U.S.-Soviet relations until the end of the Cold War. Several Truman foreign policy programs remain central to America’s international posture even today. Commitments to Israel and South Korea are still hallmarks of U.S. policy towards the Middle East and Asia. Likewise, the United States remains the prime member of NATO. Viewed in this context, Truman’s achievements in both foreign and domestic affairs, where he confronted some of the most difficult challenges any American president has faced, appear even more significant.

His cache is located at N3A BC.DEF x W09G HI.JKL.
