CACHE UPDATE: December 27, 2009
Cache container swapped out to a cammoed ammo can.
PLEASE replace it as you found it.
It is in plain sight but well camouflaged.
If you log a DNF, e-mail me for further hints.
Coords were checked at the cache and indicated 4' at:
N 41° 11.420 W 074° 27.400.

HIGHLY SUGGESTED: have a strong flashlight; it will be VERY helpful!

This cache is located within the confines of Wawayanda State Park, although not in the main park area. Parking is a dirt/gravel area just off of the roadway at 41’ 11.345N/074’27.033W.
From parking area to cache is about .4 mile. You will encounter a stream which is about 7’ wide and 1’ deep. Unless there has been recent heavy rains, it is generally easy to cross via rocks. The area is hilly and rocky. The cache coordinates were averaged from around a dozen readings. GPS reception tends to be spotty; try facing north for best satellite results and let the gps settle. The cache is amongst rocks and can be seen without moving a thing...but - WARNING: you must look carefully, AND, you will not be able to remove it through the same opening you see it through (it’s just a tad too small).
The cache is an ammo can "cammoed" in such a way to blend in. It is filled with the normal cache faire of goodies.
While this cache is very accessible, use extreme caution in summer for ticks and snakes. Black bears are native to the area and have been observed, on occasion, in the vicinity of the cache. Enjoy!
