Hidden on the side of Granite Mountain near the Pacific Crest Trail.
The container is a brightly colored metal tin. Elevation at the cache location is 3522 feet. A high clearance vehicle is needed to get you to the PCT trailhead. If you approach the area from Banner you might encounter a closed gate. It probably won't be locked, so just drive on and close it behind you. You can also hike up from Scissors Crossing. The only clue I'll give you to find the trail junction is turn uphill at N 33 03.262, W 116 32.572. The junction is poorly marked at this point. The dirt road has recently been graded but there are some deep gullies you'll need to avoid. If you want to drive to the trailhead and then continue South to Oriflamme Canyon you will encounter an extremely eroded and rocky 4WD road. It's not a 2WD road anymore!
Be aware of desert critters, plants with spines and Summer temperatures. It can get very hot even at this elevation.
