Lactodorum: Rather than keep this cache temporarily disabled (which should only be used for shortish periods) I'm archiving it. If/when the cache is ever replaced I'll gladly unarchive it.

This multi-cache is located in and near to the village of Bishops Cleeve, Gloucestershire.
The village of Bishop's Cleeve appears to have originated in the late 8th century when Aldred, sub-king of Hwicce, gave land to support a Minster church in the area dedicated to St Michael the Archangel.
A century later and the land came into the hand of the Bishops of Worcester where it remained until the sixteenth century. The area was known as the Bishop of Worcester's manor of Cleeve, from where the modern name probably originates.
By the time of the Domesday Book of 1086, the estate measured 30 hides. A hide was traditionally the unit of land, which could support a family, but was also used as a unit for taxation. The Domesday Book entry reads:
"There are 30 hides, 3 ploughs an demesne, 16 villagers and 19 smallholders with 16 ploughs. There are 8 slaves and 1 horse. A priest has 1 hide and 2 ploughs. A radknight with 1 hide and 2 ploughs. There is a very small wood"
Nowadays Bishops Cleeve is more the size of a small town than a village with many residents employed in nearby Cheltenham and Gloucester.
The village has plenty of supermarkets, newsagents, fast food outlets, a number of pubs to assist in a break after the cache.
The cache is a large lock and lock plastic sandwich box inside a plastic bag.
In order to obtain the co-ordinates for this box you will need to find two 35mm containers. One has the Northing and the other the Westing co-ordinates of the main cache.
The co-ordinates at the top of the page relate to the roundabout at the centre of the village from which you can find parking in the Tescos car park, Lidl car park or nearby on road parking.
The two 35mm film containers are located at the following co-ordinates -
A. N51 56.827 W002 03.494
B. N51 56.946 W002 03.550
If you do them in this order you will be heading in the direction of the main cache. You may need stealth to retrieve and replace the film canisters.
Please do not take the laminated cache co-ordinates from the 35mm canisters.
The first part involves walking on tarmaced pavement. The walk to the final cache is across fields which obviously can be muddy at certain times of year. The terrain is flat.
