WANTED TO FIND A SPOT WHERE THE VIEW OF SHASTA WAS GOOD AND I COULD HIDE A CACHE HAVE FUN BIG BEAR. Standing at 14,162 feet, on the summit of Mt. Shasta in Northern California can be one of the most rewarding experience of your life. The proper elevation was recently surveyed at 14,179 feet. There are 17 established routes, each with several variations, that lead to the Summit on Mt. Shasta. Avalanche Gulch route is one of the most popular climbed routes and the Clear Creek route follows a close second. Climber's have a choice of technical or non-technical routes plus you can take up some rock and ice climbing or just throw on a backpack and hike to some of Mt. Shasta's luscious alpine meadows. The Mt. Shasta Climber's Guide offers a wealth of resources and current information on climbing Mt. Shasta along with personal climbing stories, guide books and services, rentals, links, partners, a virtual photo tour, Mt. Shasta conditions reports from the Mt. Shasta Wilderness Rangers plus an avalanche report, and loads of information on getting to the summit, and much more. The Mt. Shasta Climber's Guide is presented by Steve Lewis, author of the guide book "Climbing Mt. Shasta". "Climbing Mt. Shasta" is the only written resource you'll need to help you prepare for a 14,162 ft. ascent on the second highest volcano in the United States!
