What is Field Day?
It is held the last full weekend of June.
It is 24 hours of practice emergency communications for amateur radio.
We make as many contact as possible in the 24 hours we are operating.
We operate only on generators and solar cells to prove we can communicate without using commercial power.
In case of a natural disaster, we can set up our stations and provide communication across the nation even though power may be out, the phone system, both land line and cellular towers, have been destroyed.
