Geocache Description:

This event is focused on handmade geocaching items. Heres a chance at some fresh ideas, tricks and techniques to make your mark on the game we all love so much. Get your Mojo rising!

Together at one time and in one place we'll have all the materials, tools, knowhow and folks needed for you to make your own custom poker chips or wooden nickels from start to finish. Thanks to modern technology, silkscreening has become a very simple process. We'll be using this technique.

Event will be held at Skinguys house on Saturday March 25th. Plan to arrive around noon.

We'll start by making a template for the silkscreen process. This is much easier than it sounds. Next we'll attach your finished screen to a frame. Then we'll silkscreen your artwork onto the chips or nickels. We'll all do each step together...piece of cake. The entire process should only take about 2 hours.

1. I'll be ordering a supply of blanks so everyone can make their chips or nickels at the event. Let me know how many you want and whether you're doing wooden nickels, poker chips or both. The poker chips are 13 cents each and the nickels are 10 cents each. Cost of the stencil kit is $5.00 per design, plus $4.50 for a bottle of ink. Please see this thread on the igo forums for more details regarding supplies. You can take your stencil home with you after the event to make an unlimited number on your own.

2. Prepare your artwork before the event. Artwork needs to be 1" diameter when printed. Artwork also needs to be black and white only. There is an open thread on the IGO forums for design help and advice. Print your artwork in black ink only on plain laserjet paper, not the fancy stuff, and bring it to the event. Please see THIS DISCUSSION on the IGO forums for new details as they emerge.

There will be loads of geocoins on display and trades being made, so be sure to bring your geocoins.
