Cycling the scenic, remote roads of Central Texas is one of my favorite things to do when I’m not Geocaching. Most cyclists are always on the lookout for good ride maps, and most geocachers are on the lookout for scenic places to cache. So here you go! This is another in a series I call Cycle Central Texas where I’ll combine my two hobbies.
Lovin’ Stonewall!: I LOVE Stonewall! The people you might run into there are some of the best you’ll ever meet. Park at the little rest area at these coordinates N30 14.348 W98 39.162 and you can jump in the Pedernales River to cool off when you’re through. This ride is just over 20 miles. A nice short one for my cycling friends who are still intimidated by the longer distances. I might have said short, but I didn’t say EASY! The hills will give you a workout, but the views will be worth it. For fit riders of all levels! Enjoy!
If you MUST drive instead of ride to the cache site, please drive carefully and watch out for cyclists who may be right around the next curve. It could be ME!
