Located in Carolina Bay Nature Preserve which has marked trails that are generally flat that encompass the Carolina Bay area.
The 14-acre Carolina Bay Nature Perserve land was made a city park in 2003. The perserve is maintained in an undeveloped state for passive recreation and nature study. The preserve is for people seaking peace and solitude while enjoying nature. It has woodchip marked trails that invite walkers to enjoy trees, the birds, wild life and the wetland creatures in and around Carolina Bay.
The park is open during daylight hours. Beware of poison ivy and snakes during the appropriate months.
Park at 33 31.842N and 081 43.267W
This is a 2 stage multicache. The first stage is a camouflaged film canister which has the second stage coordinates listed inside. The final stage is hidden in a camouflaged plastic coffee container.
Please stay on the green marked trails which encompass
Carolina Bay. Minimal bushwacking necessary. The caches are within 10 steps off the trail area and the final stage about 10 steps from the hint.
Due to the dense covering, the gps will bounce around. The final stage was averaged by 2 garmin and 1 magellan and still they were about 30 feet apart. During the winter months, much easier to pinpoint.
