THE CACHE HAS BEEN MOVED! It is
NOT at the coordinates on the Key tag! The Rangers
removed the cache due to canebrake rattlesnakes in the area.
If you have a Key, send me an email and I
will send you the current coordinates to the cache.
(Prove that you have a key by emailing something from the key
tag, like part of the coordinates or hint.) The cache is
about 2 miles from Sandy Bottom Nature Park in a VERY easy
spot to access, 24/7, Terrain 1.0 (park and
grab).
Listed cache attributes have been
changed to reflect the current cache location.
The cache container is a large padlocked ammo can in
Sandy Bottom Nature Park.
Before hunting for this cache, you must find any one of
12 keys located in other caches in Hampton Roads. The key unlocks
the padlock, and the key tag contains the coordinates to the
cache. (
Keys look like this.)

number to indicate you have it.
- Before searching, check this page for any updates. (Cache may
be down for maintenance, coordinates may have to be updated,
etc.)

- Whether or not you find Sandy, Where’s the Key?,
please be courteous to your fellow geocachers and do not keep the
key more than 1 week before depositing it in another
cache.
Once you have a key, difficulty rating is 1.5
1.0. Difficulty rating of 2.5 includes
time and effort in obtaining a key. Cache is roughly 3/4 mile
from parking (Nature Center) and 150 feet off a nice path. Very
easy, scenic walk suitable for small children, except that last 150
feet may have a few thorny vines. Also good for biking, jogging,
dog walking and even horseback riding. (Listed Cache Attributes
apply after you have a key.)
Please respect all "off limits" signs and avoid wandering too
far off the trails, to avoid encounters with Canebrake
Rattlesnakes. (The Park Ranger Supervisor gave specific
permission for this cache.)
