Geocache Description:

Nice hike along Gunpowder Falls and up to an overlook of the river and rapids. One of my favorite areas to hike.

From the nearest parking area, it's about a one-third mile hike to the cache location if you follow the trail from the parking lot. The nicest hike is to walk down the road to the bridge, and pick up the trail from there.

The cache is a Rubbermaid container with a few dollar store items; a small deck of cards, a couple of candles, and a little Easter egg-shaped towel that expands when you add water. Hmmm.

It's hidden up on the side of the ridge, so be careful climbing up to it. It's not a difficult climb, but there is some moss and some loose rocks, so watch your footing. Once you are up to the cache site, you'll have great views up and down the river. This spot is a popular kayaking section of the river. The day I placed the cache, it was about 20 degrees and two kayakers were on the river.
