SEPAG's Loch Alsh Loot Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

slackjawedyokel: Well, I went over today and replaced stage two. I moved on to check on the final, and it was missing. In it's place was the stash note, with a message written on the back. Needless to say, the location was compromised, and I removed the rest of the cache. This is a great place with lots of space, so I'm sure someone else will get a new cache here very quickly.

Geocache Description:

Three stage multi around a local reservoir and park. Final cache is an ammo can. Be careful around fishing season, as the area is VERY popular with fishermen. There are 2 parking lots right off Loch Alsh Ave with plenty of parking most times.

This new multi-cache is in the same general area as the old Riverjet2 cache. The hide was a joint effort involving fellow SEPAG members ccm352, and Gargoyle! Thanks to those guys for letting us yokels “own” the cache. Some of the cache areas will be very private, and some will require a bit of stealth, especially in the spring and summer when there will be plenty of fishermen chasing the trout. Coords were averaged using 3 different GPSr’s, one Garmin and two Magellans, so they should be as accurate as needed! Also, be aware of weather! This is a reservoir with a constantly changing water level. Be ready for some mud if it’s been rainy. There are some paths, but, bah, who needs paths! Bring your fishing rod, and you can drown a few worms while you’re here. The reservoir is stocked with trout in the spring. Also, bring your camera. There is usually quite a bit of wildlife around, deer, turtles, geese, ducks, and hawks are very common. When I went back to drop a TB in this cache, there were about 5 large hawks nearby, screaming at each other and hopping around. The cache was started with a few TBs and some usual cache swag. A new 2005 calender from GC.com also awaits the FTF! This is a township park, and is open only during daytime. Also, there are no dogs allowed here.

The posted coords should get you to a micro-cache containing the coords for the second step. There you should find the coords for the final cache, which is a large ammo can. We went with some harder hiding spots on this one, so be ready for a bit of a challenge. I also really like decoys, so hopefully you should have a good time locating the hides! As always, please be sure to rehide all containers (and decoys!). As mentioned, this area is very popular, and all stages must be completely hidden, or they will undoubtedly be muggled.
No spoiler hints yet. We’ll see if anyone can find it without them. The only hint you get is “X marks the spot”, although we won’t tell you what stage it’s a hint for! If we get 2 or 3 dnf’s posted, we’ll post some spoiler hints, until then, good luck!

03/04/05 UPDATE: Stopped by for a maintenance visit today. The final step was a bit exposed, but I fixed her right up. Please be sure to rehide every step well, so the next hunter has a challenge too. I know that some of the steps will be tough to replace, but it is VERY important that every step be completely out of sight. Once you find it you'll know what I mean. As I said before, this area will be completely full of fishermen soon, so please do everything you can to keep every step hidden. Thanks!
