Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Please be aware the path up through the woods is very steep and
when wet it is VERY muddy and slippery. Proper footwear is a
must.
The pipe track follows the route of the clay pipe which brought
china clay in suspension from the clay works at Cadover to the
settling tanks at Shaugh Bridge. Once settled and dried the clay
was then carted to Bickleigh where it was loaded onto trains.
The remains of the drying/settling tanks can still be seen in the
car park at Shaugh Bridge and the pipe is clearly visible at the
top end of the path.
Suggested parking at N50° 27.241, W04° 04.054 and following the
footpath signposts to Cadover Bridge.
The cache has been located out of the woods so you should have no
problems with reception when the leaves are out. The cache is a
tupperware box tucked down under a leaning oblong granite boulder
From the site you can see Dewerstone Rock on the other side of the
valley.
