Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Miamisburg’s Sycamore Park. The entrance to the park is located at the corner of Heincke road and Miamisburg/Centerville road (State route 725). Drive into the park and park in the last parking lot on the road. I have been trying to place this cache for the last 15 months. I wanted to be the first to place an “approved” cache in a Miamisburg park. Patience and perseverance have paid off. I received the go ahead from the director of Miamisburg Parks and Recreation. I decided to name the cache “Sycamore Fossils” because of the stream that runs through the park is an excellent source for finding brachiopods, cephalopods, crinoids, and horn coral. These fossils were alive during the Ordovician Period (438 to 505 million years ago. If you are interested in geology, it is a great place to look around. When you are trying to find the cache, remember this: No bushwacking is required. Please take a moment after you have discovered the cache to make sure that you are not being observed. Cover the cache back up and make the area as natural looking as possible. Remember: “Cache in Trash out” Original contents of the cache. Plastic Pig, Plastic Frog Plastic Chicken, Plastic Elf Tape measure, Two pair of gloves Combination lock, Auto scan FM radio 4” spring clamps, Flashlight
