Duck Holes
2004... and today.

Located in a picturesque part of the world, there are some surprises and points of interest in this, the first cache set by ChickDeputy & EvilDan.
A good starting-point is the picnic area (with some car spaces) at S33 39.826 E151 15.257. Plenty of space, some tables, and a small running creek await you.
The immediate area has been subject to the onslaught of wildfire twice in the last decade - in January 1994, then 10 years later, in January 2004. ChickDeputy and EvilDan are volunteer firies whose brigade covers this cache's area - and most of the surrounding bush between Terrey Hills and Church Point! The cache is located in a spot which is a good demonstration of post fire regrowth.
The ponds at the picnic area are known by locals as "The Duck Holes" - which turn out to be part of quite a long creek system. There are lots of good spots to sit, beachy places if you feel like a dip, and wildlife such as wallabies are being seen in the area again. Two roads are close by but you're unlikely to be seen from them.
The area is mostly geokid friendly however a tight leash might be necessary around the edge of the ponds nearest the cache site. Unfortunately being National Park there are no dogs allowed.
Bring a picnic, stay a while, soak in the atmosphere. If you would like to have a BBQ please note the picnic area does not accomodate wood fires - so bring your own gas BBQ only.
There is no requirement to pay the NPWS entry fee to complete this cache.
The cache is being used to launch the bushfire-themed "BRT" Travel Bug and in celebration of ChickDeputy's 50th find!!
