Multicache between the villages and public houses of Cambridgeshire and the Fens
-- 01 July 06 - This cache is now missing. Tigger and I visited our favourite picnic spot today and have found the cache removed. There was no notice and we've had no email. We suspect the local pub but we've not been informed. We apologise deeply as we know many people enjoyed this cache. If anyone knows anything about this, PLEASE let us know. We shall visit shortly for a more in depth search. --
The cache is 5.56mm Ammunition container, retrieved from Afghanistan in 2004.
Start at the grid reference above and read a board or two about the History of the Fens. There is a landline number for Ely's most famous historic resident should you need more information. The number is 013F3 AAB0AB.
From there you head on to N52 19.4B5 E000 B1.0A1
There is a plaque of the local brewery near by. When was the brewery born? The Second number of this date is 'C'.
Next is a drive to the next stage. N52 18.C05 E000 18.BB8
Behind the obvious building is another. It's a flowery cottage with a date on it. The date is 1DED.
From here you are almost complete. A short drive to the car park at N52 18.3E6 E000 15.25D will put you within a 2 minute stroll to N52 18.3EB E000 1F.1F3, the final cache location.
When set, the cache contained :
1 Waterproof notebook with 2 pens.
2 platoons of adventurous soldiers. Please take one. No need to replace with anything.
3 Music CD's
1 model DIY airplane
1 kaleidoscope
1 dutch clog keyring
1 cuddly cat keyring
1 Scary Eyeball!
1 Pedometer
1 Travel Bug, The Travelling Bug.
The cache is about 25 metres from a small picnic spot. It's one of Tigger and Taz's favourite spots and we'd appreciate it if you keep to the cache-in, trash-out principle, should you see anything.
Top Tip 1 : A few pounds for a pint or two along the way.
Top Tip 2 : Some bread for the ducks at the beginning and the end.
