A cache along the Fountain Creek Regional Trail
This cache is located close to a steel and wood pedestrian bridge that crosses the Fountain Creek as the Fountain Regional Trail jogs to the north. According to the data plate on the structure, the bridge was constructed by the Big R Company and placed at this location in March of 2000. For a location that is nestled in an urban area, this spot provides some great views. You will often see ducks and other wildlife in all seasons.
For everyone’s safety, DO NOT climb on or under the bridge! The cache is located near the bridge and is kid friendly. The container is full-sized green ammo can, so bring your trading swag!
You can enter the trail from a small parking lot located 2.3 miles away at N 38° 46.583’ W 104° 46.850’. You can also access the trail from the Youth Sports Complex at N 38° 47.614’ W104° 47.108’ or you can get the trail from the Kohl’s parking lot located off S. Circle Drive. The trail is well suited for bicycles.
This trail is heavily used, so beware of onlookers as you are opening the cache. Also, like all public trails, this trail is a beautiful hike, but provides an excellent opportunity to “Cache In, Trash Out” so bring your trash bag or take one from the cache container.
