Geocache Description:

With thanks to Margaret Ann of the Nevada Commission on Tourism and special thanks to Lt. Governor Lorraine Hunt, May 21st, 2005 is officially Nevada Geocache Day.
Proclamation by Governor Kenny Guinn

Friday and Saturday, May 20 & 21 will be the dates for this year's GBES Navigational Rally. And what an event we have in store for you.

In 2005, we've taken the best features of the Inaugural Rally of 2004 to make the 2nd Annual GBES Navigational Rally better. This time around we're giving you two chances to get out and play in the desert.

First a night rally, giving all you adventurers out there a chance to witness an amazing scene, the beautiful Nevada desert under a brightly lit moon.

Then, after a mid-morning brunch with the other participants, it's off to the desert once again for another rally.

In preparation for this year's rally we've searched high and low to match the views of Mountain Wells and "Pucker Canyon". What we found was an area that makes a camera a "must-have" along with the standard off-road gear.

Along the way, we've again hidden several caches, but made them more exciting. Not only have we hidden more of them (around 25 Geocaching.com loggable caches for the Day Rally alone) but also we've tossed in some new types of caches including Progressive Caches, and a Multi-Cache that will send all team members hiking into the desert.

Veterans of last year will recognize our Checkpoint Challenges. This year we're giving teams Course Challenges just to keep you on your toes.

Entry fee for the 2nd annual GBES Navigational Rally is $125 for both night and day rallies. The fees cover GBES's costs for, among other expenses, liability insurance, remote toilet facilities, BLM Special Use fees and awards for winners.

All proceeds go to Fallon Families First, a not for profit organization that supports the victims and families of the Fallon Leukemia Cluster.

Awards will be given to: First, Second and Third Places for night and day rallies and First, Second and Third Places overall.

Bigger, and Better, this is one event you will not forget!
Amazing Vistas!
