This cache is intended to highlight the Chatuge Lake and Chatuge Dam area. The Dam is one of several that was built by the TVA in this area, it was completed in 1942. This Dam is built of earth and rocks and is 150 feet high, 3336 feet in length and has a reservior length of about 13 miles. This cache is placed on a peninsula that is owned by the USFS. You should have an excellent view of this Dam and the lake , should you find it. There is a trail that will get you very close to the cache site, with only a short bushwhack required. The container is an Ammo Box .
