"We were going to make this a two stage multi but decided to make the second stage a bonus cache due to the length of the hike. This is one of our favorite trails to hike or bike, mainly because it is close to home and is the first trail we mountain biked on. The trail is well defined with some slight washouts and small tree roots thrown in, it is hard packed dirt, that can get sloppy in wet weather. ShesWalkinToo and I are beginner mountain bike riders and had to walk up three of the steeper inclines and there are sharp turns at the bottom of a couple of the descents. It took us two hours to ride and set out two caches." ~IMWalkin & ShesWalkinToo

Don't have phone service in the park? Cooper Lake State Park has loaner GPS units available at the South Sulphur Unit in the front office with Geocaches already downloaded for your convenience. This cache is closer to the beginning of Coyote Run trail, still, be sure to pack some snacks and water. Wear hiking shoes and watch your step with roots and mud. The hike from the trailhead to this cache and back is about 1.4 miles and walking will take about 28 minutes. Please put the cache back as you found it (or better than you found it, if not sealed or hidden properly) and respect our Leave No Trace policy by leaving all the wildlife as you found it. We love when our visitors take the initiative to help keep our trails clean: if you got what it takes, bring a trash baggie with you. If you see that the cache needs some love or that the trinkets are running low, shoot us a message. Don't forget to log your cache and leave us a comment. Happy caching!
