JAC - Just-A-Cache
Nothing fancy, just coords and a container to find with a nice trek thru the woods. This cache placed for our 2nd anniversary of finding our first cache(just a month late). What a great fun year it has been with over 1000 found for the year! Took advantage of last weekends snow to x-country ski the 1.5mi plus to this location from parking at the Beverly entrance off Rt.72. This ain't no drive-up. As many know this parking area is best described as rather seedy(no worse than any other FP parking area just that its all condensed into a compact area). The short road into this area is one of THE WORST in all the Cook County FP's too. Take care - the potholes are numerous and deep. There are many other caches between this parking area and this cache - including the oldest one in Illinois. This cache will also be accessible at a shorter distance from Penny Rd. Pond parking area. It seems to be closed for winter right now. Cache is a smaller tubular container for the logbook and smaller items. It's about 8in. long and camoed. Not far off the trail. There are pockets of posted Private Property that border parts of this FP so please obey the signs. It was a rather bad time of day for sats when I visited so let it average for a long time. Please report any discrepancies if coords seem too far off. Please do not put the pencil in the bag as it will just poke a hole in it. Thanks for hunting and Have Fun!
