Geocache Description:

This cache is on the road which runs around the back of Port Chalmers.

The cache site is at a lookout looking up the Otago Harbour towards Kilgour's Point and Dunedin.
There is a plaque about the harbour steamer "Pride of the Yarra" which collided with the paddle steamer Favourite in 1863 and sank with the loss of 13 people including the Rev Thomas Campbell (the first Rector of Otago Boys High School) and his family.
The cache is a 1 litre camo painted snaplock container and is hidden close by at ground level. It is invisible at 0 metres.
