I recently discovered Elysian Park and wanted to share some of the trails I've found. It is a busy place on the weekend, requiring discretion during the hunt. If you can get here during the week, so much the better. Of course, if you come during rainy weather, you will almost have the place to yourself. However, then there is the added safety issues that come with the rain, ie: Slippery trails and land slides. Please be mindful of the conditions. After heavy rains, some sections of trail may be blocked off for safety. This is a popular dog walking area and even though there is a leash ordinance, most are off leash. I've spotted woodpeckers and hawks in the park. There are several places to park, one of which is a lot at N34 05.143, W118 14.752 This one is a waterproof match box, similar to a film cannister. The general cache location can be reached from the fire road, or from a trail above. From the fire road it is a short climb. Bring your own pen. LOG ONLY These Elysian Park caches are my first caches. I welcome input regarding d/t rating and placement.
