Geocache Description:

A cache series highlighting the public art of Tacoma.

This sculpture is yet another celebration of Tacoma's railroad heritage. Placed in approximately 2003, the sculpture's name and artist is unknown and seems to be a work in progress. It honors an era of transportation that is now long passed, but not forgotten, and has been placed along South Tacoma Way, part of the Pacific Hwy that runs from the Seattle waterfront to Fort Lewis.

UPDATE: After further research, we've discovered that this sculpture is named "Gateway Arch Project" by Fritz Church
