Helidocs Railroad History Series #12
Beloits Fairbanks-Morse Co was a major diesel locomotive producer until the last one rolled off the line in 1963. Although they no longer make the whole locomotive, they continue to make large diesel engines for the railroad and marine industries.
This converted rail bridge over the Rock river was one of 2 rail spurs into the Fairbanks-Morse complex. The city of Beloit made this bridge part of their river walkway several years ago. Its hard to miss the FM locomotive!
