Welcome to our first stashed GeoCache. The cache is not at the above coordinates, it is the middle of a street. Solve the questions below to determine the location of the first waypoint. At the waypoint you will find a micro with two additional math questions to determine the coordinates of a second waypoint. At the second waypoint you will find a micro with a clue to the cache location. The cache contains a FTF certificate, trade goodies and our new TB, the Calgary Cowboy.
Here are the questions:
A) Wendy has some cats. All but two of them are Siamese, all but two of them are Persian and all but two of them are Burmese. A=Wendy’s number of cats.
B) Mary’s hotel room has a great view of the town clock. As the clock strikes 12 noon, she asks, “how many more times will the minute hand pass the hour hand before 12 midnight?” B=number
C) Angelo has a backyard pool. He loads up a solid bronze mermaid into a rowboat and paddles out to the middle. The water is now at a level ‘X’. He lowers the mermaid and positions it on the bottom. The water is now at a level ‘Y’. If X is higher than Y, use C=2; if the water level remains constant, use C=3; and if X is lower than Y, use C=4.
D) George has a rope ladder hanging off his boat. There are 5 rungs exposed (the lowest rung is just above the water), and each rung is 30 cm apart. If the tide comes in at a rate of 20 cm/hour, how many rungs are still exposed after 2 hours? D=number of rungs.
The first waypoint is at a location expressed by N51 XX.YYY, W114 QQ.RRR. XX=B-C YYY=278 + (A x B x D) QQ=C + D RRR=23 x A x D
Good luck, and we hope you enjoy our first hide!
