Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden on what I call the Thirteenth Expressway. It is within 1 block of an Interstate-80 exit, easy on/off. Park on a side street, then it is an easy walk 200 feet on a sidewalk, then 40 feet on grass. It is NOT in the private alley. TRAVEL BUGS ARE WELCOME!

More than 40 years ago, 13th East came to an end on a narrow 2-lane road near 27th South. The Utah Highway Department wanted to connect the North end of 13th East to the South end of 13th East. A decision was made to take out an entire row of houses between Interstate 80 and 27th South and widen the street to 6 lanes. From 27th South, the new road curves west 1/2 block and follows the existing Richmond Street passing in front of the old Brickyard (now the Brickyard Mall), then finally curves back to meet and continue as 1300 East at 3300 South. This GeoCache has been placed in an area that was someone's back yard before the new road was built. It is now a grassy landscaped area maintained by the Highway Department. Watch out for walking MUGGLE pedestrians. When you find the cache, you will be fairly well hidden from view. As you walk back to your car, Please help us with Cache-in, Trash-out along this "Thirteenth Expressway".
