Located near Lesmurdie Falls with outstanding views to the city.
Thought this would make a good spot for my first cache and was surprised that there wasn't one here already. Now I notice that I've been trumped and another cache in the area has since been listed. Oh well, I guess I should have moved a little faster in listing my cache.
The falls are at their best during winter but the views can be enjoyed all year round.
A round trip of about 1km. From the car park follow the path that leads to the falls. On your right you will come across a small wooden bridge. Cross the bridge and take the steep paved path to the top of the hill. The path now becomes a rocky trail. Follow this trail a while until it forks right. Which path (if any) you now take is not that important since both tend to more or less circle the cache area. Should you take the straight ahead path you will find an outcrop of relatively smooth rocks on your left on which you could sit down and picnic and take in the views.
The cache is a small red drinks esky (sorry, no beer!) with a white lid and carry handle. It has been placed in a sleeve of khaki material to help camouflage it. Take care retrieving the cache from the sleeve in case some critter has decided to make a home there. Please ensure the cache is secured inside the camouflage sleeve before you leave.
