Geocache Description:

Easy walk at the base of 5452 ft. Mt Persis near Index. Great views of the Sky Valley below and mountains to the east and Mt. Index looming to the S.E. You're looking for a 50 cal ammo box.

Nice short walk of .37 miles in a recently logged off area on the lower flanks of Mt. Persis. You'll have a great view and spot to sit looking down on US 2 and the Skykomish River 600 ft. below you and up and down the Sky Valley. Drive US 2 east to mile marker 33.4 and turn right on FS rd 62. This excellent gravel road climbs uphill 1/2 mile to a gated side road on your left. Park here and it's a short walk to the cache. Please rehide the cache well. Enjoy the views.

Update 8-12-06 Upped the terrain rating due to new summer growth and blackberries coming up.
