Located along the route of a circular walk in the parish of Corpusty, deep in rural Norfolk.
This cache is placed for those of you who enjoy long distance walks in the countryside, although can be done as part of a much shorter route. The full 18 mile circular route is detailed on the Countryside Access website (www.countrysideaccess.norfolk.gov.uk) as walk 31, Holt -Mannington Walk. This is a challenging but rewarding full day's walk in a beautiful part of Norfolk, although the route can easily be split into smaller sections, and other routes worked out by referring to the O.S. map (Explorer 252). Although the cache is in a small copse, the tree cover is fairly light and I was able to get a GPS accuracy of 18 - 22 ft. when placing it. The cache is a regular sized lunchbox type container with the usual assortment of bits and pieces for kids of all ages. When placed, it was holding the Smart Car TB - could the FTF please log it as I've lost my record of the tracking number. A word of warning - some of the footpaths and tracks in this part of the world are seriously muddy in wet weather, and are used by farm vehicles, so wear good boots and take care.
*** 5/6/10 - DIFFICULTY RATING EDITED IN VIEW OF RECENT DNF'S. THE AREA GETS VERY OVERGROWN WITH NETTLES DURING THE SUMMER. MY ADVICE IS TO EITHER LEAVE THIS ONE TILL THE WINTER, OR TAKE A BEARING FROM OUTSIDE OF THE WOOD AND GUESTIMATE YOUR WAY TO THE CACHE FROM THERE. ***
