A fun dinosaur themed multicache located at Garfield Park in South Pasadena.
This multicache has 4 way points including the cache itself.
Garfield Park is a lovely park in South Pasadena, complete with play equipment, bathrooms, a rose garden, tennis courts, picnic tables, and lots of trees. There is street parking around most of the park.
The first way point is a plaque. Find the dedication date on the plaque (if it doesn’t have a month and day, in addition to the year, you’re looking at the wrong plaque). To find the second way point, you’ll need to plug the date information (mm/dd/yyyy) from the plaque into the following equations:
Latitude = N 34° 05.825 + m.mdd
Longitude = W 118° 06.873 + y.yyy
You’ll need to return to math when you reach way point three. To get the coordinates of way point 4 (the cache), do the following to the coordinates you find recorded at way point 3:
To the latitude, add: 0.090
To the longitude, subtract: 0.045
Speaking of pterodactyls, you’ll look fabulous as you bond with this dinosaur themed cache, stocked with, oddly enough, dinosaur themed stuff. Bring dinosaur goodies to leave if you can.
