We have obtained a permit from the Round Valley Park Office. Permit No. RV2017041102. If you park at the Cushetunk Mountain trail head (40° 37.763 74° 48.257) (This will keep you off private property) -- you will enjoy a pleasant hike of a little over 2 miles round trip with a climb of approximately 325 feet. The cache is a small lock-n-lock container.
From the parking lot, do not take the red trail (which is closed over half the year), but walk a 150 feet along the powerline to the trail on your right, marked by yellow diamonds. The most direct route to the cache is following the yellow trail and then taking the "red dot" trail that branches off to the right -- trail head is at 40 37.399 074 48.094. You can follow the yellow trail until it comes to the white trail and then go up the hill. You will take a right turn up the hill at approximately 40° 37.269 74° 47.857. The cache is not on one of the closed trails. There is a lot of signal bounce in this area -- use the hint to locate the right GZ. We just wanted you to get out for a nice walk in Hunterdon County. Be aware that in hunting season if it is not a Sunday, you should wear something bright and try not to look like a deer. This is our first hide in NJ. Hope you enjoy it.
