Tate's Fate Traditional Cache
Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements.

Tate Springs
E. C. Tate, a confederate veteran, led a wagon train from Georgia to Texas in 1870. He and these related families settled in the area between Village Creek and Rush Creek – a community later known as Tate Springs. By 1882, Joplin School and the Baptist church had been established. By 1952, Tate Springs was described as a “church and crossroads” community. And, by 1991, the small community had become part of Arlington. E. C. was active in the formation of the church, donating land for both the church and the cemetery.
Tate, a number of his children, and members of the early community are buried at Tate Cemetery. There are a number of recorded, but unmarked graves. You’ll find a historical marker with further details of Mr. Tate and the cemetery. We also found interesting markers – both headstones and footstones – something new for us.
Regarding the cache: We tried to make this very easy. Please be respectful of the location. We hope you enjoy this bit of local history. And, if any longtime local residents have additional interesting information, please add that to your log. (Thanks to Mcdoodles and family for the container - from their "Surplus" cache.)
