Geocache Description:

This cache is located near a little known wilderness pond in the Pedlar District of the George Washington National Forest.

Follow Route 812 from Route 501/130 and park at the trail head (See picture below): N37° 36.331' W079° 23.158'.

Follow the blue blaze double track until you reach: N37° 36.728' W079° 23.252'.

Then follow the single track blue blaze trail to the cache location.

On your way back you may wish to take the blue blaze trail as shown on the Trail Sign (See photo below): N37° 36.687' W079° 23.277' to Johns Hollow Shelter and follow the Appalachian Trail (white blaze) back to within sight of the parking trailhead... This makes for a very nice loop hike. Have fun!!!

Many people do not know this pond exists. The pond harbors a Costal Plain distinct, American Storax, and several Circumboreal Sedges which are unusual for this part of Virginia.
