Geocache Description:

This cache is in San Felasco Hammock State Preserve that opens at 08:00 AM and closes at sundown. Parking is at N29º42.869 W082º27.654 and costs $4.00 per vehicle. Pets on a leash are allowed. Bikes and motor vehicles are not allowed on trails. Read the trail head bulletin board and pick up a map. Trails are well marked and maintained. Muggle traffic can be high at times so use stealth when grabbing or putting back the cache. This cache is 1.7 miles from the trail head.

Use a San Felasco Hammock trail map to find two trails that start together and come back together to form the shape of an arrowhead. At the point where the trails meet you will find the cache. The cache container is a camouflaged ammo box (12X6X7). The cache container was replaced at the same location and restocked on June 4, 2005 after a recent control burn took out the previous one. Bushwhacking is not needed to find this cache. It is less than 25 feet off the trail. Watch for snakes and protect yourself from ticks. We have 7 other caches in this preserve that you might want to add to your hiking plan: The Freedom Cache, Apache Cache, Get Powered Up, Physical Therapy, Moonshine Creek Micro, Hole In The Trunk Cache and Waters Crossing Cache. It’s a nice walk and you will get to see a lot of nice scenery and wildlife. Bringing a camera with you is a good idea too; we photographed a lot of nice deer there. Enjoy your hike.
