The cache coordinates are for the Larry R. Jackson Branch of the Lakeland Public Library. This cache can only be completed when the library is open:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00am - 8:00pm
Wednesday, Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am - 2:00pm
Sunday: Closed
The branch library has recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. It is named in honor of Larry R. Jackson (1940-1997), a respected Lakeland proponent for improved educational opportunities for children, equal rights for the citizens of Lakeland, and expanded local library services.
This cache was placed with permission, and you will need to ask at the Circulation Desk for assistance in retrieving the cache. Ask for the "geocaching vertical file" ~ the vertical files are not accessible to the public; you must ask for it. The file contains a few articles about geocaching, and a log-only cache envelope. Do not take or leave anything in the folder, just sign the log and return the entire folder to the Circulation Desk. Of course, you are welcome to read the geocaching articles.
Please be mindful that the library is a busy place, and if there are other patrons waiting for assistance, it would be appropriate for cachers to wait for others to be helped first. Please thank the library staff for their generosity in allowing this cache to be placed!
If you have the opportunity, spend some time at the Library. A Books on the Weekend (BOW) monthly book discussion group program meets Saturday mornings, and various children's programs are offered.
