Geocache Description:

Located at one of Warner Robin's older structures that has been recently renovated, this is a micro cache. The location won't have to be open to locate the cache, so evenings and weekends are fine for hunting. No room for trade goods, so just sign the log and enjoy the visit.

This is the original Wellston Train Depot that was built to offload supplies and personnel for the Warner Robins Army-Air Force Base during World War II. It was dedicated in 1944 and deactivated in 1970. After serving briefly as an art gallery it was remodeled and opened as a welcome center for the city of Warner Robins. It is staffed by friendly people who will greet you and be happy to answer any questions you may have (except where the cache is hidden). Outside there is a decommissioned caboose, an old country store and the original Elberta GA train depot from somewhere around the turn of the century. The store and Elberta train depot have recently been moved here and are undergoing renovation. Look at the back end of the old store and you will see two 'one holers', one for Men and one for Women. The caboose is on display and not always open. Look inside or through the windows for help with the clue. The information about the conductor and his duties was a real eyeopener. I had no idea they had so much to do or so much "authority". This is my first cache, so if you have any suggestions to offer, I will be glad to receive them. If you are not from this area, pick up a few brochures and if you have the time, visit our outstanding Air Museum just south of the base. While there be sure to visit General Robert Scott's display. He is the author of "God is My Copilot" and lives here in Warner Robins. Enjoy the hunt and if you have problems, e-mail me and I will try to help. ____John
