Mad Max the vicker of Mawgan: Having today come out from a weeks stay in Hospital it is unlikely that in the near future I shall be able to replace the cache I reluctantly have to archive.. If the area remains free I will look at a later date of trying to get it up and running again

Geocache Description:

Turn off the A393 at the Post Office at Ponsanooth follow the road round (over the speed bumps) The entrance is to be found up the hill on the right handside but parking is nonexistant so go back down, park and walk up!

An area of outstanding beauty please treat it as such. Note the entrance board as you go in and read carefully. The power of the water held the key to the industrial past as it was the river and intricate leat system that drove the wheels of the Kennel Gunpowder Company. The company was established in 1812 (one of two in the area) and at it's height employed over 50 men. Enjoy your walk back in time and good luck. It is only a short walk but the path can be muddy. Also tree cover will cause havoc in the summer so read carefully rather than rely on the GPS. You are looking for a tube 2"x 3" with mini log book and a few small goodies. REPEAT PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THE AREA IN GENERAL AND AVOID DISTURBING MOSS AND LITCHENS WHERE POSSIBLE
