The Cache is about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot of a wild animal rehabilitation hospital, the Medicine River Wildlife
Center. For directions to this, check out http://www.medicineriverwildlifecentre.ca/
We started out at the Donut Mill (the place with the big windmill), West side Gasoline Alley, just south of Red Deer (for nutrition, you know!!!), we went south 6 km to the Penhold Overpass, took Hwy 42W to Penhold (4 km), to the intersection of Hwys 42 and 2A; continued west on 592 for 16 km to Junction 592 and 781; south on 781 for 6 km to Hwy 54; west on Hwy 54, through Spruceview, for 25 km to Range Road 42; south for 4 km until Township Rd 360; east for 2 km then into the parking lot (N52 03.446; W114 27.315)
please start on the walking trail found at the west end of the parking lot. this will let you avoid the deep snow in winter time, and the back part of the centre is usually off limits to the public. But, if you ask the friendly staff, they might just give you a tour.
The cache is in a round plastic drinking bottle of about 4 inches diameter and 10 inches high, and contains:
