Ryegrass Eastbound Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy: This is indeed gone. It has been a good ride, but it is time to let this one go away. This is the 5th rest area bison tube cache to get "removed" in the last few months between the Ryegrass and Winchester rest areas. It seems that someone doesn't appreciate this game the way the rest of us do, so I'm hoping someone else hides a cache in the area soon. A rest area without a cache is a sad thing indeed.

Geocache Description:

A Cache-cadians cache a month club hide located at the Eastbound 1-90 rest area at Ryegrass summit. Cache is a bison capsule. No big deal. This place just seemed to need something do besides make a potty stop.

This might be one of the only freeway rest stops that still didn't have a cache (unless you count the westbound rest stop across the freeway.) Located at the high point separating the Kittitas Valley from the Columbia River. Water on the west slope goes down to the Yakima river and eventually to the Columbia far to the southeast at the Tri-cities. Water on the east slope flows into the Columbia a few short miles away and about 2000 vertical feet below.

Take a few moments to absorb the "bigness" of the country around you. Then think that you are standing on 50 different lava flows that formed over untold millenia.

Drive safely!
