Travel Bug Training Camp Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

scubadog: Sorry to hear about this cache being vandalized. Many people have enjoyed trading bugs here. I am archiving it because whoever vandalized it will probably return to this area again. Perhaps I will re-establish this cache elsewhere along the river. Bummer.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Travel Bug Training Camp. When I found my first travel bug, I wasn't quite sure what to do with it.

This cache has 2 objectives: 1) To serve as a TB trading cache and 2) To serve as a source of travel bugs for new cachers who have not previously found one.

Rules: If you have EVER picked up Travel Bugs before, then please follow the usual rules for a TB trading cache. Trade one for one, or two for two, etc. Better yet, leave an extra bug so the cache of bugs can grow.
OR
If you have NEVER found a TB, you are welcome to take ONE from the cache so you can learn how to log them and place them in another cache. Please take only ONE TB per group. If a family of four have never found a TB before, please only take one. As you can imagine, this cache will eventually lose most of it's travel bugs. Please be responsible.

For those new to the world of Travel Bugs. There are 2, but similar ways to log the pickup of a TB, You can click the name of the TB in the upper right corner of the webpage, or you can click on the Track Travel Bugs button on the upper left of the home geocaching .com page. Either way you will be asked for the TB tracking number. It is on the 2" metal tag accompanying the TB. Just follow directions and be sure to read the travel objective for the bug you have chosen. You can also add a TB to a watch list to see where it has traveled. Please note: NEVER put the TB number in the log for your cache find. If you include the number in your log, then anyone can claim it as a find which will play havoc with the travels of the TB.

In addition to TBugs in the ammo box, there are several food bags folded up. Please take one in support of the CITO concept. Cache-In, Trash-Out. Once they are gone, please let me know in the logs and I will bring some more.

Parking: There is room for a few cars near the bridge but the main parking is East of the river about a 1/4 mile. From the big parking lot there is a nice trail to walk to the river. The parking and trail may be muddy in the Spring and on rainy days. Keep little ones away from the river. It is cold and swift.

Look for any easy way to approach to the cache. No need to push through thick brambles. Coords might be off because of the trees. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about finding the cache or about logging a TB.
