Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Gimhae, Kyungnam, South Korea. I have been teaching English here for almost a year, and just signed on for a second year. The cache is placed near the observatory, near the summit of Gyung Wun mountain. I look up at the observatory every day, from my apartment...

My boyfriend has recently gotten me into Geocaching, since my arrival here in Korea. Unfortunately, there are very few caches here in Korea, none in the city I live in. I have only been able to geocache on my travels during my vacation times. So I figured I could rectify the situation by placing a few caches of my own. This one is my first.

I had a co-worker translate the Geocache info sheet and log into Korean for me, so those are in English and Korean in the cache. I am hoping that some Korean people, or visitors to Korea, will find it, and maybe it might even help to spur more interest in geocaching in Korea.

The difficulty of the terrain for this cache can vary by a point in either direction, depending on whether you opt to take a car or bus up the road to the observatory (as I did the first few times I visited), or if you want a little more challenge and thus opt to take one of the hiking trails up the mountain (as I did on the day I placed the cache).

If you want to take a hiking trail, but don't know where to find one, the coordinates near the beginning of the trail I took are as follows: N35 14.597 E128 52.991

The container for the cache is a fairly small tupperware container with a lock-tight lid. It is square and, supposing the elements haven't worn it off by the time it's found, it has a velveeta cheese label on the top. The contents include two Canada key chains (one a lucky penny, and the other carabiner style), a Canadian geocoin, various Canadian coins, some horse stickers purchased in Canada, and a Canada pencil (if you take that, please be sure you replace it with something else to write with!).

For those of you who may not know, there are poisonous snakes here in Korea, so before you go sticking your hands in crevices looking for the cache, be sure you look carefully.
