StomperSwamp: Sad to have to archive my oldest active cache but the area is no longer useful for a hide. Thanks to all who searched over the years.

This traditional cache is located near the US 601 Bridge access area on the Wateree River. Make your approach from the Lugoff side of the river.
This SCDNR sponsored lake access point is very popular with boaters. Follow the rough path located on the east end of the parking area. This trail follows along the upper edge of the dropoff to the water, it provides great views of the river and the bridge as you go along. Also, there may be trash and debris in the area for your CITO consideration. The cache is a camouflaged, medium-sized plastic jar that contains a log book, a pen and trade items. The tree cover is heavy and will affect the satellite signal. Watch out for fallen and leaning trees. Be aware of the possibility for snakes, spiders, wasps, mosquitoes, ants and other creatures you expect to see in a riverside wilderness area, as well as ivy and green briar. Have fun and enjoy the View! Be sure to check out the local Lugoff and Camden caches, as well as the other Wateree View caches located upriver. About the rope near the hide: I've removed it a couple of times but it keeps showing back up. Do not approach the rope, it is too close to the edge and is not part of this hide. Stay safe!
