Geocache Description:

This is a 50 mile round trip Bikeride Event along the Jordan River Parkway trail. It will be broke into two legs, South (27 mi rt)and North (23 mi rt), so cachers can complete one or the other or both.

At present there are 40 active caches along or very near the Parkway Trail from 2100 South to Bangerter Highway. There is also two additional caches along or near the detour at about 10000 South. The plan is to ride the trail and pick up any caches not yet found by those participating. Details are as follows:

  • Saturday, March 19th: The date of the ride, weather permitting.
  • 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.: Meet and prep at the posted coords. Muffins and Juice will be provided during this time.
  • 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon: Ride the South Leg.
  • 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Rest up and enjoy lunch and each others stories. Greet those who chose to sleep in.
  • 1:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.: Ride the North Leg. For those who prefer to sleep in, you may join us at 1:00 p.m.
  • 4:45 p.m to ??: Pack up, reflect on the day, say farewells and go our separate ways.

All times allow an easy pace of 10 mph and 1.5 hours to locate caches and sign logs.

Plan to bring the following items:

  • A good working bike
  • A sack lunch (can be left in a cooler in your car)
  • Your GPS receiver
  • Plenty of fluids
  • A big smile and willingness to have a great time!
  • Helmets a must for any childeren.
  • A tire repair kit and pump may also come in handy as there is a small section on the north end that is unpaved and subject to thorns.
  • FRS Radio, channel 7.1
