This cache is hidden along the Hennepin Canal near Lock 3 in Bureau, IL.
The Hennepin Canal Lock 3 is off IL Rt 26 about a mile South of I-180. Park on the SW side of the highway bridge for quick access or park in the parking lot and set off across the bridge along the main pathway. This is a great area for fishing, canoeing, hiking or biking. The pathway is paved and close to level, so biking is a breeze. In winter, keep your eyes open for Bald Eagles. Year round, expect to see a variety of birds (I always bring my binoculars). The cache is a plastic container with a log book and a number of classic cache items. You are encouraged to swap items and log your visit. Send us picture, too. Required Posting: This Geocache is placed on Department managed property with permission.
