This cache is located along the John Muir trail. There are
several ways to get to it. The best, easiest, and most scenic is to
walk the trail from the Childers Creek trail head. But it is 3
miles to the cache from there.
Another option is to find the nearby cache Muir's Vista first.
While walking to and from it you might notice another way to the
cache. However, if you decided to go this way be forwarned that
there is much along the path that is not so pretty, and there are
many obsticles and somewhat difficult terrain. At times the terrain
can be dangerous if you decide on this path, so be careful. The
shortest path is not always the easist.
And you can come up or down the Hiwassee river itself if you so
choose. Have fun and enjoy this beautiful place however you go!
Also, be warned that your GPS signals will do weird things in
this gorge. You may have to back up a couple hundred feet and walk
the path several times to figure out the area where the cache is
hid.
